SSV Production Specialist

The Production Technician SSV plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our seed conditioning operations. This position is vital for maintaining high standards in seed health and processing.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental policies and corporate guidelines.
- Training Support: Assist in delivering safety training sessions and conducting safety observations.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all machinery is accurately calibrated and undergoes regular inspections.
- Supervision: Oversee the work of employees and third-party contractors as necessary.
- Operational Support: Carry out additional tasks to fulfill the needs of the SSV conditioning department.
- Seed Health Focus: Work within a specialized area dedicated to small seed vegetable conditioning and seed health.
- Leadership: Provide guidance and expertise in seed quality throughout plant operations.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in the collection of quality samples and data, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Sampling Procedures: Execute sampling protocols according to established guidelines.
- Product Quality: Assess product quality and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Processing Development: Develop and implement processing plans aligned with business strategies and product availability.
- Communication: Maintain proactive communication across departments to ensure processing aligns with business needs.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Manage rigorous scheduling for plant and equipment maintenance.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing improvements in processing while motivating team members.
- Creative Contributions: Utilize specialized skills to innovate and complete tasks effectively.
- Documentation: Develop and execute work instructions, task cards, and safety assessments in line with document management procedures.
- Equipment Operation: Operate advanced conditioning, chemical, and packaging machinery.
- Certification: Obtain AASCO seed sampler certification as required.
- Eligibility: All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Experience in a focused Small Seed Vegetable Conditioning and Seed Health environment is preferred.
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
- Forklift certification is required.
