Position Summary

The Machine Operations Specialist is tasked with the operation and upkeep of Automat machinery in alignment with production and quality standards. This role emphasizes safety, basic equipment maintenance, and the delivery of high-quality products that fulfill production goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and observe machinery during operation to guarantee safe and quality production while minimizing unexpected downtime.
  • Set up machines for new production runs, collaborating with maintenance staff as necessary.
  • Conduct routine inspections, quality assessments, and troubleshooting during machine operation, making required adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Verify measurements and label placements for accuracy.
  • Identify and communicate quality concerns to the Supervisor (e.g., stitching errors, incorrect label placements).
  • Address minor stitching discrepancies through hand-sewing as required.
  • Maintain precise production and quality records, both digital and physical.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to ensure safe and effective job performance.
  • Dedication to promoting and adhering to safe work practices (compliance with all safety policies and procedures).
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to utilize basic hand and measuring tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in task completion and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset focused on understanding and meeting customer needs.

Education and Experience

  • Basic math and reading skills typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing setting operating machinery is preferred.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry various weights, from light office supplies to heavy machinery components.
  • Proficiency in using hands, fingers, and arms for tasks such as typing, writing, and operating machinery.

  • Ability to hear and comprehend verbal communication and detect warning signals or equipment malfunctions.
