Position Title: Print Production Supervisor

Status: Full Time / Salary

Reporting To: Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Print Production Supervisor plays a vital role in overseeing the manufacturing operations within the Press, Post Press, Shipping/Receiving, and Maintenance departments. This position is designed to enhance productivity, ensure adherence to scheduling demands, and optimize costs while complying with company policies and procedures.

NOTE: This role requires supervisory experience within the Graphics Industry, specifically in Printing, Packaging, and Finishing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all activities within the print production area, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
  • Guide and mentor press operators, promoting best practices and effective workflow management.
  • Develop and implement work schedules, policies, and procedures tailored for the print production environment.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance staff proficiency in equipment handling, quality maintenance, and safety compliance.
  • Establish and manage departmental goals and objectives, communicating performance metrics to team members.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to identify and execute process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain printing equipment, including offset, digital, and flexographic presses.
  • Manage inventory and budget for pressroom materials to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in press machine operations and assist with production tasks as needed.
  • Work closely with other departments to align print production capabilities with customer requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive reporting on print production operations to support quality systems and departmental objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, particularly in high-quality print production.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing sheetfed pressroom operations.
  • Proven leadership experience with a focus on team development and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated success in process optimization and quality control; Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern high-speed sheet-fed presses.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities to inspire and guide teams toward achieving operational excellence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinking capabilities to tackle technical challenges.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration across various departments.
