Job Overview:
The 3D Printing Component Finisher plays a crucial role within Indotronix International Corporation's Digital Engineering (DE) 3D Printing & Prototyping team. This position offers the chance to significantly impact the development of next-generation medical devices while enhancing the existing product lineup. Under the supervision of the 3D Printing & Prototyping management, the Engineering Technician will ensure the delivery of high-quality, finished 3D printed components to internal clients in a safe and efficient manner. We are looking for a dedicated individual who can swiftly adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute cleaning procedures for 3D printed components following established standard operating protocols.
- Perform hand finishing of 3D printed items using specified techniques, ensuring the preservation of feature geometry and verifying tolerances on critical dimensions.
- Utilize precision measurement tools (e.g., digital calipers, GOM) to confirm dimensional accuracy.
- Operate 3D printing machinery during routine maintenance to produce precise medical device prototypes promptly.
- Maintain proficiency in reviewing model files using CAD software (e.g., Magics by Materialise).
- Oversee the inventory of finishing supplies in the lab and assess special materials, techniques, and equipment that could enhance the quality of part finishing.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures in all tasks.
- Comply with Good Laboratory Practices, observe all safety and quality standards, and maintain a laboratory notebook according to established protocols.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
- Collaborate with the 3D Printing & Prototyping Manager in research and development of 3D printing applications as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma is mandatory.
- Experience in post-processing or machining of 3D printed parts or a combination of relevant education and experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with various 3D printing technologies is advantageous, including Stereolithography (SLA), Carbon (DLS), Digital Light Processing (DLP), PolyJet, and Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF).
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in CAD software, are desired.
- Organized and time-sensitive individual capable of contributing to the rapid turnaround of finished components while ensuring meticulous detail and accuracy.
- Open to exploring innovative techniques related to 3D Printing & Prototyping or DE-related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both team-oriented and independent settings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
