Position Overview:
This role operates on a 2-2-3 rotation schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

The Production Team Supervisor is tasked with leading a frontline team responsible for operating high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment, as well as managing process-driven reagent formulation. This role encompasses all facets of production and maintenance, including formulation, inspection, maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment. The Supervisor plays a crucial role in employee development by providing constructive feedback to enhance performance management and accountability for team metrics and projects. Effective leadership in quality initiatives is essential for improving manufacturing processes, elevating product quality, and enhancing departmental productivity while minimizing costs and waste.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend machine operations and their relation to manufacturing processes.
  • Offer insights on equipment design and operation to optimize production.
  • Assist in developing and updating manufacturing procedures and training programs.
  • Facilitate the creation and implementation of training plans for new equipment and team members.
  • Ensure team training remains current for all manufacturing activities and promote cross-training for staffing flexibility.
  • Support daily operations management, including scheduling production activities and conducting shift meetings.
  • Maintain an efficient workforce and maximize equipment capabilities while ensuring compliance with GMP, FDA, and ISO standards.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical support to assist technicians with routine problem-solving.
  • Train the production team in advanced troubleshooting of automated equipment.
  • Ensure high-quality product output and minimal deviations through effective communication of quality assurance standards.
  • Review documentation to support manufacturing and maintenance records, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Contribute to team goal setting and performance tracking through feedback to management.
  • Inspire and motivate the manufacturing team to achieve excellence.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Identify deficiencies and implement practices to enhance safety and reduce costs.
  • Participate in projects aimed at improving product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Drive cultural transformation and successful process improvement practices.
  • Assist in the creation and revision of manufacturing instructions and SOPs.
  • Support manufacturing investigations and quality concerns.
  • Utilize various software systems to facilitate daily operations.
  • Oversee daily manufacturing activities and batch record reviews for compliance.
  • Ensure timely documentation of processes in accordance with company policies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in response to changing priorities.
  • Communicate information effectively and maintain records of discussions.
  • Conduct staff meetings as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years in a GMP production environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech sector.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a relevant technical field is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment is desirable.
  • Prior leadership experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in operating high-speed automated production equipment is desired.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations is beneficial.
  • Mechanical background is preferred.
  • Experience in bulking or compounding in various industries is a plus.
  • Knowledge of formulation manufacturing equipment is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently is preferred.
  • Clean-room experience is a plus.
