Overview:
Vitro, a leading manufacturer and distributor of automotive glass in North America, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Specialist to become part of our dynamic team.
This role involves collaboration with various Engineering Team members, including Automation Engineers, fellow Process Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Technicians, all working together to achieve top-tier performance initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process Specialists are tasked with the design and execution of production process enhancements and engineering projects aimed at improving plant safety, quality, efficiency, and reducing variable costs.
They will develop project plans related to engineering tasks and assist in formulating short and medium-term strategies, supplying information for Project Expense requests and ACT's pertinent to plant and process engineering (including fundamental technical data, vendor contracts, technical data reviews, and performance studies) to aid in decision-making for expense and capital project improvements.
Utilizing effective cost management and sound engineering judgment, they will plan and implement projects and other assignments in a timely manner to contribute to plant productivity and profitability objectives.
Collaboration with maintenance and production teams is essential to provide technological guidance and assist in creating operational and maintenance procedures to ensure equipment consistently performs at optimal levels.
They will employ QIP, SPC, and other methodologies in equipment/process design and in establishing vendor specifications and other activities to support continuous improvement efforts and meet customer needs effectively.
Implementing and prioritizing safety, health, and environmental control policies and procedures in both personal work activities and in equipment/process design modifications is crucial to achieving plant/company safety and health goals.
They will also be responsible for training production staff to adhere to the defined processes in each area, addressing concerns raised by team members, tracking work orders to completion, and providing timely updates to work instructions as modifications or enhancements are identified.
Participation in daily GEMBA walks is expected to identify production opportunities that impact daily line performance.
Additional tasks may be assigned to support the team as needed.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Ceramic Engineering) or an equivalent qualification is required.
A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in production/process engineering is desirable; experience in the automotive sector is advantageous.
