Toledo Ohio, United States Shively Diversified Management Services Full time

We are looking for a skilled automotive manufacturing specialist who excels in project-based work and is eager to take on new challenges.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to improve and optimize the automotive production process.

As part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team, you will contribute to projects that ensure adherence to production protocols and optimal operational efficiency.

A solid grasp of machining techniques, automotive design concepts, cutting tools, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is crucial, along with proficiency in basic 2D CAD software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine powertrain component blueprints, cataloging all features and dimensions involved in the machining process, and compile an Excel list using a provided template.
  • Utilize the Quality Control Plan to determine which features of the part prints are being inspected, documenting the measurement methods and frequency in the Excel template.
  • Review preset machine programs or Tool Control documents to identify additional features of the cutting tools that are monitored during the manufacturing process.
  • Document any part print features that are not being inspected according to the Control Plan or Tool Control documentation.
  • Compile a comprehensive list of all features along with their inspection methods or lack thereof for plant review.
  • Employ CAD software for drawing assessments and analysis.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and establish the appropriate sequence to complete assignments effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management, providing regular updates on process enhancements, challenges, and potential concerns.
  • Analyze prints, processes, and work orders to identify discrepancies that may lead to production or quality issues.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience is preferred, with a willingness to engage in project work.
  • Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.
  • Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and design principles.
  • Experience with CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical expertise in process engineering disciplines.
  • Solid understanding of high-volume manufacturing methods and machining processes.
  • Excellent project management abilities, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Do you approach projects with analytical reasoning and logic? Are you adept at interpreting blueprints, evaluating work orders, and applying GD&T? If you possess the skills and experience we are looking for, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.
