Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in billing and financial management within a legal environment. This role is essential for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of client invoices and supporting the overall financial operations of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Billing Manager in the preparation and execution of client invoices.
  • Ensure adherence to monthly billing timelines, maintaining accuracy and punctuality.
  • Provide attorneys with budgetary information for ongoing legal matters.
  • Facilitate the collection of rate and billing details for newly initiated legal cases.
  • Manage the distribution of electronic and traditional invoices to clients as required.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to assist in the entry of time records into the billing system.
  • Work alongside the Accounting Specialist to ensure proper posting of collections and accounts payable.
  • Support the accounting team with various tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree with a focus on accounting or finance is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with electronic billing platforms, including the management of new matters and invoice submissions in LEDES format.
  • Prior experience in law firm billing, with knowledge of client billing protocols and rates.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
  • Familiarity with Coyote Analytics or similar billing software is advantageous.
