Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Assessment Coordinator to join our team at Tulane University Staff. The successful candidate will provide leadership for the assessment of student learning outcomes for the University's academic programs and administrative units.

The Senior Assessment Coordinator will facilitate the development and implementation of effective assessment strategies, approaches, practices, and resources to support faculty and staff. This includes providing training and support for assessment activities and technologies that assist with collecting and interpreting student learning or unit outcome data.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in education, instructional design, research methods, program assessment, social sciences, or related field, and a minimum of two years of experience in assessment of student learning. They will also have experience working with faculty in relation to the assessment of student learning outcomes, as well as knowledge and experience with using a Learning Management System (LMS) for assessment.

The Senior Assessment Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Assessment, Office of Assessment and Institutional Research, and will be responsible for maintaining compliance with the institutional accrediting body standards (SACSCOC) for the assessment of the administrative units, academic programs, and student support units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with SACSCOC standards for assessment of administrative units, academic programs, and student support units.
  • Facilitate institution-wide assessment of core curriculum outcomes, including providing training on assessment methodologies and data collection.
  • Support the presentation of results of the core curriculum assessment cycle by preparing an annual assessment report for internal and external review.
  • Provide consultation to academic and administrative units on effective assessment practices, including valid and reliable assessment methods, analysis and interpretation of data, and use of data for program and unit improvement.
  • Develop and provide direct support and training to faculty and staff on the use of assessment software.
  • Develop and maintain guidance materials and resources pertaining to assessment, including those related to data collection and review.
