Nursing Assistant I/II Job Description

Under the general supervision of a licensed nurse, the Nursing Assistant I/II provides direct patient care and support services in various healthcare settings throughout Ventura County. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign measurements, patient transfers, and personal care.
  • Assist with medical procedures, such as phlebotomy and electrocardiogram.
  • Maintain patient records and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Participate in infection control and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Minimum three months of experience in a licensed nursing facility or comparable work experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certificate required; Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification preferred.
  • Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs preferred.
