Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist I/II to join our team at Ventura County Medical Center and Santa Paula Hospital. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of standardized chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological tests for examination, obtaining data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, and orienting new employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of tests in any or all of the fields of medical technology, including serology, blood bank, microbiology, hematology, coagulation, chemistry, special chemistry, and urinalysis.
  • Complete technical testing/reporting and maintain basic records and operate electronic equipment and analyzers required for testing.
  • Assist in maintaining the laboratory and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Participate in quality assurance and proficiency testing activities.
Requirements
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist Generalist license issued by the State of California Department of Health Services.
  • One year of recent experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for the Clinical Laboratory Scientist II position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of one or more sub-specialty such as: Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank.
  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Ability to work as an integral part of the laboratory team.
