John Carroll University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Enrollment Leader to join our team as Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Strategy and Innovation. This key leadership position will play a critical role in driving strategic initiatives that enhance the leadership position of the Enrollment & Marketing division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and drive strategic initiatives that enhance the leadership position of the Enrollment & Marketing division.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the division and the University to determine effective, efficient, and student-centric systems, workflows, and processes that can be sustained and scaled through technology.
  • Represent Enrollment in key retention efforts and coordination with Institutional Research on strategies related to brand expansion, rankings, and analyzing data to create sustained systems.
  • Evaluate, organize and systematize dual enrollment partnerships with key high schools.
  • Work with International programs to develop and maintain systems for international application and onboarding procedures.
  • Liaise with Academic Affairs on First-Year Experience programming.
  • Maintain open lines of communication and identify synergies with academic colleges, schools, departments, the graduate school, and administrative departments to coordinate cross-campus support of efforts to meet enrollment and net tuition revenue goals.
  • Organize and activate the key external influencer networks that support JCU's recruitment efforts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain articulation agreements with community colleges and business model innovations to accelerate the transfer of students from other universities to JCU.
  • Take a lead role on behalf of enrollment to advocate for and inform academic and student service policies that are aligned to enrollment priorities and strategy enablement.
  • With the VP for Enrollment & Marketing, plan, initiate, and nurture the Strategic Enrollment Management process and plan sprints and workshops to keep cross-functional teams moving forward to achieve strategic planning goals.
  • Study and make recommendations on business model innovations and conduct market/competitor analysis to help inform new programs, policies, etc.
  • Conduct and analyze the research needed to understand JCU's market position, translating findings to cultivate a compelling and differentiated prospective student experience.
  • Enhance support of strategies from key stakeholders through development of internal communication, briefs, proposals, presentations, etc.
  • Manage the work of select vendors and strategic partners across the division.
  • Work with the VP on oversight of the division's budget and allocation to the right initiatives, reducing redundancy and making strategic cost cuts based on ROI analysis.
  • Support the institution's DEIB initiatives to grow JCU's Mosaic program enrollment, including providing workflow, procedural, and technical vision for scaling initiatives to reach more students.
  • Serve as a representative of the Division of Enrollment to campus colleagues, committees, and to the larger community.
  • Serve as a thought leader in college enrollment to accelerate the brand expansion of JCU.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a leadership role in a demanding professional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate ambiguity and develop solutions.
  • At least five years of previous experience in the college enrollment industry.
  • Proficiency with Slate or a similar CRM, including query or workflow building.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain high professional standards.
  • Ability to effectively represent the mission and vision of the University to the larger community.
  • Well-developed skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to travel as needed (costs reimbursed in accordance with budget policies).
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as assigned.
  • An ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external constituents.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated evidence of exemplary customer service skills.
