Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Diagnostic Sonographer to join our esteemed healthcare team. This role requires adaptability in scheduling, including the ability to rotate between various locations and work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, as well as on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic sonograms to accurately illustrate anatomy and pathology for clinical interpretation. Specific duties include:

  • Gathering pertinent patient clinical information from the referring physician or service prior to conducting examinations.
  • Preparing patients for imaging procedures.
  • Setting up the examination room and ensuring all equipment is ready before and after the imaging process.
  • Conducting self-assessments of sonographic exams to identify any sub-optimal techniques or equipment issues.
  • Meeting the physical demands of performing diagnostic sonography in both inpatient and outpatient environments, which includes conducting portable exams and assisting with patient transport.
  • Maintaining RDMS credentials in accordance with the standards set by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited ultrasound training program.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to cover shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • ARDMS certification in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties is required.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or equivalent experience in a similar ultrasound department.
  • Demonstrated experience in ultrasound procedures, particularly in OB, thyroid, transplant, and abdominal imaging.
  • Strong teamwork, motivation, leadership, and communication skills, with an adaptable approach to work.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • ARDMS certification in Abdominal and OB/GYN Sonography.
  • Prior experience in pediatric ultrasound.
  • A proactive attitude towards rotating between different sites and working variable hours.
