Kaiser Permanente is looking for an Advanced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team.
Position OverviewThis role is based in the Imaging Services department and involves producing high-quality two-dimensional ultrasonic images of internal organs, aiding physicians in diagnosing medical conditions and evaluating organ function.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and cooperation.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for examinations.
- Select and configure ultrasound equipment based on examination requirements, adjusting settings as necessary.
- Operate ultrasound machinery to capture images and record diagnostic information.
- Monitor and adjust the transducer during procedures to ensure optimal image quality.
- Document test results and patient data accurately in the ultrasound system.
- Assist in training new staff members.
- Perform additional related tasks as required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of continuous experience in ultrasound within the last six (6) years, with no more than a one (1) year gap in the last four (4) years.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- Pediatric Sonography Certification
- Fetal Echocardiography Certification
- Breast Sonography Certification
- Abdominal Sonography Certification
- Obstetric-Gynecologic Sonography Certification
- Basic Life Support Certification
- NT certification is necessary for conducting genetic screenings. Candidates may be hired without this certification but must obtain it within 90 days of employment.
