After School Program Coordinator

Are you passionate about creating engaging experiences for children? Do you enjoy facilitating fun activities, from games to creative projects?

We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team in our expanding after-school programs.

The YMCA's Youth Programs are rapidly growing, and we are looking for exceptional staff to support our school-age initiatives and advance into leadership positions.

We are in search of candidates who thrive in a creative environment, who can assist children with their homework, and who are always ready to engage in playful activities.

Our goal is to ensure that children are safe, secure, and actively involved while instilling our core values:
respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring. Join us in making a positive impact in the lives of the youth we serve every day in our programs.

Shifts/Hours:

Program hours are mornings from 6:45am-8am (9am on Wednesdays) and/or 2:30-6:00pm Monday through Friday, with additional hours available on days when school is not in session for full-day camps.

We prefer staff to be available for at least three consistent days each week, but we are also seeking substitutes.

You can choose to work just in the morning, just in the afternoon, or a combination of both.

Salary range:
$ per hour based on experience, availability, and state licensing guidelines. This position is part-time, year-round, with opportunities for full-time work during the summer season. Additionally, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff (Spanish and English).

- Independently lead and supervise children in both small and large group settings.

- Adhere to program standards, including safety and cleanliness protocols.

- Attend staff meetings and training sessions.

- Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary matters, child abuse prevention, and emergency situations.

- Foster open, friendly, and professional relationships with staff, parents, participants, and community members.

- Maintain confidentiality regarding YMCA issues, incidents, and records.

- Arrive on time for all shifts and demonstrate flexibility to accommodate unexpected schedule changes, including full days.

- Provide leadership and support to Program Aides and Volunteers.

- Implement positive guidance and preventative discipline techniques with participants, using natural consequences in accordance with YMCA policies and expectations.

Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.

- Provide documentation of 480 hours of experience working directly with school-age children in settings such as Sunday school, Scouts, sports, or babysitting.

- Obtain certification or provide documentation of current certification in CPR and First Aid (can be completed through the YMCA).

- Work effectively as part of a team, communicate well with youth, parents, and colleagues, and demonstrate a commitment to high-quality programming.
