Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information and Referral Coordinator to join our team at the County of DuPage, CO. As a key member of our Community Services Department, you will play a vital role in providing information, intake, advocacy, and referral services to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a lead worker to employees engaged in providing information, intake, advocacy, and referral services.
  • Organize and coordinate the information and referral process to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Train and guide staff on the intake and referral process, as well as other relevant training as required.
  • Instruct staff on documentation requirements to ensure accurate and complete records.
  • Oversee Information and Referral Specialists in prioritizing, decision-making, and scheduling needs to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
  • Delegate work and answer questions from staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Approve payments up to a set dollar amount for various programs to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Research and gather information to identify new or additional types of services available to meet the needs of clients.
  • Handle complex intake screenings with call-in and walk-in clients to identify programs and services that meet their needs.
  • Assist clients with the completion of applications and related documentation required for services.
  • Compile case information and enter it into the appropriate database to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Inquire and conduct research to identify new or additional types of services available to meet the needs of clients.
  • Prepare statistical reports and other required paperwork as needed to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide counseling on health insurance options to clients.
  • Lead special projects and programs throughout the year to promote community engagement and outreach.
  • Create and conduct team-building sessions for staff to promote collaboration and communication.
  • Serve as a liaison with local agencies associated with ongoing programs to ensure effective partnerships and service delivery.
  • Lead and/or attend committee meetings within the department or partnering groups and agencies to promote collaboration and communication.
  • Present public information material, educational workshops, and network with service providers to promote community engagement and outreach.
  • Maintain and update procedural manuals to ensure compliance with grants and programs.
  • Conduct reviews with intake staff responsible for elder abuse reports/ombudsmen reports to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Information and Referral or Social Services, including acting as a lead worker.
  • Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid driver's license.
  • Must have the ability to obtain an InformUSA certification within one (1) year and maintain the certification.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

A general office environment with a moderate noise level, to include some travel to an off-site facility or building in all weather conditions.
