Pediatric RN II - Ambulatory (Orthopedics)


Nemours Children's Hospital is looking for a dedicated Pediatric RN II - Ambulatory (Orthopedics) to enhance our healthcare team in Orlando, Florida.

Our facility features a state-of-the-art 100-bed pediatric hospital, including a specialized 24-hour Emergency Department tailored for children, along with various outpatient clinics offering specialized services.

Designed with families in mind, our hospital integrates the healing aspects of nature with cutting-edge medical practices to ensure top-tier care for children across Central Florida and beyond.

In alignment with our mission to extend Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also deliver specialized outpatient services across multiple clinics in the region.


The RN II plays a crucial role in delivering and coordinating nursing care in collaboration with children, families, and community resources, ensuring that care is tailored to the unique needs of each child and family.

The RN II is attentive to individual, cultural, ethnic, and religious values when planning and delivering evidence-based care, providing essential education, continuity of care, and consultation with relevant community resources.

This position entails responsibilities in program development and management. As a program manager, the RN II oversees daily operations and administration, including program execution, report submissions, staff direction, training, and scheduling.

The RN II will manage, coordinate, and engage in various administrative and clinical activities related to a specific program or specialty, supervise staff, and formulate policies and procedures aligned with program objectives.

Travel to satellite locations may be necessary as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and oversees operational activities for assigned programs or specialties, addressing specific operational challenges in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Collaborates with division directors and department heads to plan, develop, and implement program goals and objectives.
  • Continuously evaluates program objectives and implements necessary adjustments to meet or refine these goals.
  • Conducts staff meetings to ensure adherence to established practices and keeps team members informed of current standards.
  • Designs and implements effective training and orientation programs.
  • Maintains comprehensive records, reports, and documentation of program activities for evaluation purposes.
  • Responsible for patient care within designated populations.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to provide and assess nursing care, applying knowledge of growth and development, pathophysiology, and family dynamics.
  • Accurately documents all aspects of nursing care delivery.
  • Provides leadership, education, and support to nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assists with phone triage, medication refills, patient communications, and clinical care as needed.
Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in a BSN program with completion anticipated within 12 months of hire.
  • BCLS Certification is mandatory.
  • Must possess a current Florida RN License in good standing.
  • Requires a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience, with at least two (2) years of clinical experience preferred in pediatrics.
  • Travel to satellite locations may be required.
Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to travel to various satellite locations as needed.
Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, consisting of four 10-hour shifts.
