Nemours Children's Hospital is in search of a dedicated Pediatric RN II - Ambulatory (Orthopedics) to become a vital part of our healthcare team.

Located in a state-of-the-art facility, our organization is committed to providing exceptional pediatric care, featuring a specialized 24-hour Emergency Department tailored for children, along with various outpatient clinics that offer a range of specialties.

Our hospital is designed with a focus on family-centered care, integrating the healing aspects of nature with advanced medical technology to ensure top-tier healthcare for children.

In alignment with our mission to extend our services into the community, we also offer specialized outpatient care across multiple clinics in the region.


The RN II plays a crucial role in delivering and coordinating nursing care, working collaboratively with children, families, and community resources to tailor care to the unique needs of each child and family.

The RN II takes into account individual, cultural, ethnic, and religious values in the planning and delivery of evidence-based care, providing essential education, coordination, and continuity of care while consulting with relevant community resources.

This position encompasses program development and management responsibilities. As a program manager, the RN II oversees daily operations, administration, and staff management, ensuring the program runs smoothly.

The RN II will coordinate and engage in various administrative and clinical activities related to a specific program or specialty, supervise staff, and establish policies and procedures aligned with program goals.

Travel to various locations may be necessary as part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage operational activities for assigned programs, addressing specific operational challenges and issuing directives in line with departmental protocols.
  • Collaborate with division directors and department heads to plan, develop, and implement program goals and objectives.
  • Continuously evaluate program objectives and make necessary adjustments to meet or refine these goals.
  • Conduct staff meetings to ensure adherence to established practices and keep team members informed of current standards.
  • Create and implement training and orientation programs for staff.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, reports, and documentation of program activities for evaluation purposes.
  • Provide care for patients within designated populations.
  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver and assess nursing care, applying knowledge of growth and development, pathophysiology, and family dynamics.
  • Accurately document all aspects of nursing care delivery.
  • Offer leadership, education, and support to nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with phone triage, medication refills, patient inquiries, and clinical care as necessary.
Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or active enrollment in a BSN program with anticipated completion within 12 months of hire.
  • BCLS Certification is mandatory.
  • Current Florida RN License in good standing is required.
  • A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience is required, with at least two (2) years of clinical experience preferred in pediatrics.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to travel to satellite locations as required.
Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 4, 10-hour shifts.
