Pediatric Private Duty Nurse

GenCare Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Pediatric Private Duty Nurse. This is a part-time position that offers flexible scheduling, with ideal hours from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm to accommodate the various needs of patients and their families.
Job Responsibilities- Under the guidance of the Director of Nursing, the RN staff nurse will promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
- Supervise assigned team members and assist in carrying out rehabilitation programming and activities for patients, including the development of social skills and daily living skills.
- Provide personal care services to patients, including oral hygiene, bathing, and hair care as needed, nail care, diapering, and dressing.
- Administer medications to patients orally, intra-, or via feeding tube subcutaneously, and monitor the effects of medications and record patient reactions.
- Observe and monitor the movement and activities of patients in their home, and assist/review the Medication Administration Record (MAR) monthly and as needed to ensure accuracy.
- Applicants must be able to travel.
- Experience in a pediatric care setting, preferably with medically complex patients.
- Valid RN license as issued by the Florida Board of Nursing.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required.
- Must be able to pass a Level II background check.
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs. safely.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional time management and attention to detail.
- Prompt documentation and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of Registered nursing techniques and methods.
- Knowledge of medications and treatments used in patient care.
- Experience with tube feeding, tracheostomy, wound care, neurological disorders, oxygen dependence, and IV therapy.
- Experience with premature birth, post-discharge care, chronic lung disease care, feeding - suck/swallow, insulin-dependent diabetes, failure to thrive - poor weight gain, immune deficiencies, renal failure, spina bifida, pre/post organ transplant care, genetic disorders, rare disorders, postsurgical long/short-term care, colostomy/ileostomy care.
