Description: Are you a collaborative professional eager to advance your career in Bridge Assessment? Popli Design Group (PDG) is looking for a Lead Inspector to join our dynamic and skilled team.

As the Lead Inspector for Bridge Assessment, your primary responsibility will be to assess and document the condition of bridges and various structural assets. This includes the creation of detailed condition reports using agency-specific software or other approved formats.

In this role, you will also coordinate with an Assistant Lead Inspector (ALI) to ensure inspections are completed efficiently and on schedule, while providing mentorship and support to junior team members.

Strong communication skills are essential as you will interact with team members, clients, and subcontractors, ensuring clear and effective information exchange throughout the inspection process. A commitment to delivering high-quality work that adheres to technical standards is crucial.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and document the condition of bridges and other structures.
  • Prepare condition reports using agency-provided software or other formats.
  • Coordinate with an ALI to complete inspections and mentor junior staff.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and personnel from clients and subcontractors.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document bridge conditions clearly and concisely.
  • Focus on delivering quality work that meets technical guidelines.
  • Recent experience in bridge inspection with relevant agencies.

Experience, Education, and Certification:

  • Possession of a valid NYS PE license or NJ PE license with the ability to transfer between states.
  • Completion of the NHI Bridge Safety Inspection Course or NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Workshop.
  • Valid driver's license with the capability to operate a work vehicle.

Work Environment:

This position involves a combination of office work and field inspections. Fieldwork requires the ability to work in various weather conditions and travel to project sites.

Physical Demands:

The role requires physical capability to perform field inspections, including climbing ladders, wading in streams, and working at heights. Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer are also necessary, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
