About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Lead Structural Engineer to join our team at H&H, a trusted full-service infrastructure engineering firm with over 137 years of experience.

As a Senior Lead Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading structural engineering efforts on major projects, managing internal staff and sub-consultants, and interacting with clients and other design team disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead Structural Engineer or Project Engineer on major projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Team Management: Assist with managing internal staff, including engineers and technicians, as well as sub-consultants, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Client Relations: Assist with client relations and business development efforts, including proposal writing and presentation.
  • Design and Documentation: Prepare detailed plans and construction documents for assigned tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Engineering Calculations: Perform engineering calculations to support design and documentation efforts.
  • Contract Administration: Develop contract specifications, contract bid documents, and technical reports.
  • Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with various discipline teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and effective communication.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Ensure that all work is completed accurately and in accordance with quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  • Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and training to junior staff, conduct performance reviews, and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York required; additional licenses in New Jersey or other states a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of structural engineering experience with a focus on bridge design.
  • Bridge Design Expertise: Specific experience with local client base preferred (NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ).
  • Analysis and Rating: Experience in analysis of major and/or complex bridge projects, including curved steel plate girders, steel box girders, segmental concrete box girders, or continuous post-tensioned girders, in accordance with Federal and State codes.
  • Bridge Rating: Bridge rating experience preferred.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $124,000 - $165,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our benefits package includes a professional work environment, a comprehensive benefits package, and a 401(k) plan.
