About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic II to join our team at Interstate Truck Center. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnostic and Repair Services: Diagnose and repair a wide range of issues with truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, and more.
  • Inspections and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections and testing of vehicles to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to our clients, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Inventory Management: Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service trucks, performing periodic reconciliation as needed.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicles, conducting safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections to ensure safe operation.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a related field, or any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Safe Driving Record: Valid driver's license required, with a safe driving record.
  • DOT Medical Card: Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire.
  • ASE Certification: Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years or older.

  • ASE T4 (Brakes) Certification
  • ASE T5 (Suspension) Certification
  • ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) Certification
  • ASE T7 (HVAC) Certification
