Position Overview

The Radiology Technologist II will work under the supervision of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, performing essential radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist healthcare professionals in diagnosing medical conditions. This role involves operating radiographic equipment to capture high-quality images of the human body, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
  • Communicates effectively with patients to alleviate concerns and ensure cooperation.
  • Prepares and positions patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
  • Utilizes immobilization devices to achieve optimal imaging results as per physician requests.
  • Determines exposure settings based on patient characteristics and imaging requirements.
  • Positions imaging equipment accurately for optimal results.
  • Adjusts equipment settings to ensure images are captured with the necessary detail and clarity.
  • Operates mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including emergency situations.
  • Assists qualified physicians during fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations.
  • Prepares imaging results for review by radiologists or referring physicians.
  • Processes images, ensuring proper identification and quality control.
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
  • Implements radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation of imaging procedures.
  • Trains and orients new staff and students as needed.
  • May perform additional related duties as required.
QualificationsBasic Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California).
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California).
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
Additional Requirements:
  • California Mammography Certificate (if applicable).
  • Ability to perform general diagnostic and fluoroscopic duties as required.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
