Behavioral Health Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at the Virginia Dept of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide support, education, and supervision to individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support and training to individuals with disabilities
- Collect and record data and document services provided
- Work collaboratively with co-workers, Residential Managers, and Supervisors
- Participate in medication administration and other medical procedures
- Meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- High school education or equivalent required
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- Valid Virginia driver's license required
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to learn basic techniques and knowledge of developmental care and treatment

This is a full-time position with a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to work collaboratively with our team to provide high-quality care to our clients.
