We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents with behavioral and mental health concerns.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote cognitive, social, physical, and emotional development in patients/residents.
- Conduct group sessions to teach patients/residents new skills and behaviors, and provide feedback and support to promote positive outcomes.
- Observe and record patient/resident behaviors, and communicate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to identify and address any concerns.
- Assist with behavior management and crisis intervention, and provide emotional support to patients/residents in need.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a positive and supportive environment for patients/residents.
- Associate's degree in Human Services, Early Childhood Education, Social Sciences, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience working directly with children in a therapeutic setting, or QMHP-C certification and no experience.
- Ability to de-escalate situations with patients, strong written and verbal skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
