We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Behavioral Health Services of VA. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to program participants, including mental health skill building services and intensive in-home services.
  • Progress notes and assist with gathering information for assessment, ensuring accurate and concise documentation of all services, contacts, and collaboration with clients, families, and community partners.
  • Maintain a caseload of multiple clients, reducing the risk of out-of-home placement or assisting in the return from out-of-home placement.
  • Attend weekly supervision with the Clinical Supervisor, demonstrating an awareness, appreciation, and respect for diverse cultures and individual differences of clients and fellow employees.
  • Utilize approved skills curriculum with youth, adults, and families to help improve behavior, keeping the family and team members informed on progress toward achieving Service/Treatment Plan goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a human services-related field required.
  • Must hold current registration as a QMHP from the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
  • At least one year of experience providing mental health services (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Compensation details: 22-25 Hourly Wage
