Personal Banker

Overview

The role of a Personal Banker is centered around providing an exceptional customer experience. This position is focused on customer service and proactive sales, engaging both current and potential clients to assess and fulfill their financial requirements. By embodying Renasant Bank's customer engagement philosophy, you will act as a trusted financial advisor. Personal Bankers are expected to be self-driven, consistently achieving a balanced performance in customer satisfaction, account growth, and referrals that contribute to the branch's revenue.



Responsibilities

A successful Personal Banker excels in delivering a top-tier branch experience through three key areas: service execution, sales performance, and operational excellence.

  • Consistently meet personal sales and service targets by nurturing new and existing customer relationships through the engagement model.
  • Develop a daily action plan aimed at enhancing customer relationships and ensuring adherence to service standards.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to achieve service, sales, and operational objectives.
  • Demonstrate and uphold Renasant's service standards in every interaction with customers and colleagues.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns, acting as a liaison between the client and the bank.
  • Maintain motivation to achieve optimal sales and service outcomes on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Utilize all customer interactions, whether in-person or via phone, to identify additional needs and provide suitable recommendations.
  • Foster effective partnerships with other business lines to enhance customer relationships.
  • Engage in community initiatives as a representative of Renasant Bank.
  • Serve as a backup Teller or Head Teller when necessary.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurately completed to minimize exceptions.
  • Conduct all account maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Stay informed about all regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to Personal Banker duties and branch operations.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college education preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant customer service and sales experience is required.
  • Strong commitment to achieving sales, service, and operational results while exceeding expectations.
  • Ability to deliver individual and team sales and customer experience outcomes.
  • Focus on customer financial needs, prioritizing their interests.
  • Knowledge of the financial services sector and local community to better assist clients.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail with a proven track record of accuracy in transaction handling.
  • Comfortable using various technology software for transaction processing.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing business needs.
  • Aptitude to comprehend and apply all regulations, policies, and procedures related to Personal Banker responsibilities and branch operations.
  • Willingness to travel for training and development opportunities as required.

For Senior Personal Bankers:

  • At least 2 years of successful personal sales experience.
  • Ability to manage complex transactions with minimal supervision.
  • Operational proficiency with few exceptions.
  • Expertise in all aspects of bank products and solutions, including IRAs and complex business accounts.

For Licensed Personal Bankers:

  • Current state insurance license.
  • Ability to meet licensing requirements as set by the Bank's broker/dealer, if applicable.
  • Maintain current knowledge of non-FDIC insured solutions, including annuities and life insurance.

Work Environment

The Bank's professional working environment requires employees to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Employees must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when working closely with internal business partners and external clients. Employees may be exposed to confidential and proprietary information within the working environment, therefore, must uphold confidentiality at all times. Due to the possibility of being exposed to high-risk situations (i.e., robbery), detailed instructions and procedures are required to be followed at all times to safeguard the Bank's employees, customers, and assets.
