SIC Rigging Supervisor

Position Title: SIC Rigging Foreman (COLA SB)
Position Overview: Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is in search of a Rigging Foreman to operate from our Columbia, SC office, overseeing various projects across the NC/SC/GA region. Candidates must be open to travel as part of their responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes hoisting apparatus for the elevation and placement of structural steel components.
- Secures steel components to the hoisting cable using chains, cables, or ropes.
- Communicates with the operator of the hoisting equipment to facilitate the lifting and positioning of steel components.
- Utilizes tag lines to guide components into place.
- Adjusts steel components into approximate positions while supported by the hoisting apparatus.
- Employs tools such as turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools to finalize positioning of components.
- Aligns holes in components with corresponding holes in previously installed components using drift pins or wrenches.
- Confirms vertical and horizontal alignment of components using plumb bobs and levels.
- Secures aligned components temporarily until they can be permanently bolted or welded.
- Modifies steel components as necessary.
- Identifies and responds to hazardous conditions or situations.
- Regular attendance is mandatory.
- Extensive travel may be required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
- Completion of all safety and general job training as mandated by SIC.
- Adherence to SIC and customer safety and quality protocols at all times.
Physical and Job Site Requirements:
- Ability to effectively utilize all required personal protective equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
- Work conditions include office environments, workshops, high-traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped sites, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather.
- Must be capable of safely accessing all areas of properties, buildings, structures, rooftops, and confined spaces.
- Strenuous physical demands are inherent to safely executing the essential functions of this role.
- Must be adept at operating all relevant equipment and tools.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend consistently, and work in confined spaces with limited access, including on ladders and in personnel lifts.
