Position Title: SIC Rigging Foreman

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Rigging Foreman to oversee operations from our Columbia, SC office, working on various projects across the NC/SC/GA region. This role requires a willingness to travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up hoisting equipment for the installation and positioning of structural steel components.
  • Secure steel components to hoisting cables using chains, cables, or ropes.
  • Communicate with operators of hoisting equipment to facilitate the lifting and placement of steel components.
  • Guide components into position using tag lines.
  • Adjust steel components into approximate positions while they are supported by hoisting devices.
  • Utilize tools such as turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools to finalize the positioning of steel components.
  • Align holes in components with corresponding holes in previously installed components using drift pins or wrenches.
  • Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of components using plumb bobs and levels.
  • Temporarily secure aligned components until they can be permanently fastened or welded.
  • Modify steel components as necessary.
  • Identify and respond to hazardous conditions or situations.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be prepared for significant travel as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Completion of all safety and job training as mandated by the company.
  • Adherence to safety and quality protocols at all times.

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

  • Ability to effectively utilize all required personal protective equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Work conditions may include offices, shops, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather.
  • Capability to safely access all areas of properties, buildings, structures, and elevated positions, as well as confined spaces.
  • Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods, bend consistently, and work in confined spaces with limited access.
  • Must be able to operate all necessary equipment and tools safely.
