Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Job Overview: EMCOR Group Inc. is seeking skilled Electricians to join our team, working from our Columbia, SC office on various projects across the NC/SC/GA region. Candidates must be open to travel as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints, sketches, and construction plans relevant to electrical installations.
  • Adhere to precise standards and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Prepare layouts utilizing tools such as voltage testers, wire strippers, levels, and pipe benders.
  • Execute panel terminations following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Strategically plan installation sequences to mitigate obstructions and coordinate with other construction activities.
  • Install cable trays, pull wires, and bend various conduit types.
  • Demonstrate understanding of motor controls and metering systems.
  • Size branch circuit overcurrent protection devices accurately.
  • Calculate electrical loads for both single-phase and three-phase circuits.
  • Assess information using measurable standards.
  • Analyze and compare variations in the size, shape, and form of electrical components.
  • Follow detailed directions, plans, and blueprints meticulously.
  • Perform tasks in various positions, including overhead and beneath structures.
  • Make informed decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from technical drawings.
  • Lift and transport objects of varying weights safely.
  • Identify and respond to hazardous conditions promptly.
  • Maintain regular attendance as required.
  • Travel may be necessary for project requirements.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Complete all required safety and job training as mandated by EMCOR.
  • Adhere to EMCOR and client safety and quality protocols consistently.

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

  • Ability to effectively utilize all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Work conditions may include offices, shops, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped sites, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather.
  • Must be able to safely access all areas of properties, including elevated positions and confined spaces.
  • Physical demands are significant and essential for performing the job's core functions safely.
  • Must competently operate all relevant equipment and tools.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods, bend frequently, and work in confined spaces with limited access.
