Position Title: SIC Rigging Foreman

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Rigging Foreman to oversee operations from our Columbia, SC office, managing various projects across the NC/SC/GA region. The role requires a willingness to travel to job sites as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up hoisting equipment for the installation of structural steel components.
  • Secure steel components to the hoisting apparatus using chains, cables, or ropes.
  • Communicate with operators of hoisting equipment to facilitate the lifting and positioning of steel components.
  • Guide components into place using tag lines.
  • Adjust and position steel components while they are supported by hoisting devices.
  • Utilize tools such as turnbuckles, crowbars, and jacks to finalize the positioning of components.
  • Ensure proper alignment of holes in components for bolting or welding.
  • Check vertical and horizontal alignment using tools like plumb bobs and levels.
  • Temporarily secure aligned components until they can be permanently fastened.
  • Modify steel components as required.
  • Identify and respond to hazardous conditions promptly.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be prepared for significant travel as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Completion of all required safety and job training.
  • Adherence to safety and quality protocols at all times.

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

  • Ability to use personal protective equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Work conditions may include exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and varying weather conditions.
  • Capability to access all areas of job sites, including elevated positions and confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina to perform strenuous tasks and operate necessary equipment safely.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and work in confined spaces or awkward positions.
