POSITION SUMMARY:

The Field Engineer II will be responsible for overseeing project controls and managing multiple disciplines. Key responsibilities include supporting Craft Superintendents, collecting quantities, scheduling, contract administration, and project reporting. This role requires effective communication with clients, engineering teams, subcontractors, and project management to ensure project success.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Represent the company professionally in all client interactions.
  • Deliver contract-required reports to clients on a regular basis.
  • Adhere to corporate and site-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct quantity calculations and track project progress.
  • Develop and review work plans and packages.
  • Support the implementation of the site quality plan and ensure timely inspections.
  • Manage daily labor timesheets and compile weekly labor rate reports.
  • Train staff on Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures.
  • Lead safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and maintain procurement reports.
  • Plan and schedule work groups on-site.
  • Perform material takeoffs from project documents.
  • Assist engineers in preparing data for submissions.
  • Prepare purchase orders and manage subcontract administration.
  • Supervise subcontractor operations and provide field support.
  • Maintain comprehensive project records and correspondence.
  • Monitor project controls, including productivity and scheduling.
  • Create and manage the master project schedule.
  • Generate change orders and as-built documentation.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost forecasting for the project.
  • Establish cash flow forecasts to ensure project viability.
  • Act as the primary company representative when required.
  • Understand the terms and scope of the Prime contract.
  • Prepare invoices and schedules of values for clients.
SUPERVISORY:
  • Support a crew of up to 50 personnel as needed.
  • Lead a small team of Field Engineers.
  • Oversee a portion of the field office staff, including engineers and support personnel.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in a Field Engineer role or similar position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Familiarity with health and safety programs and regulations.
  • Active participation in daily safety meetings.
  • Ability to read and analyze engineering plans and specifications.
  • Strong motivation and commitment to quality work.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for project assignments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Capability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work at heights and comply with safety regulations.
HOURS:

This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of 50 hours per week, subject to project requirements.

TRAVEL:

Travel is required for this position, with a focus on project site presence.
