Position Summary: The Automation Systems Engineer will be tasked with the design and programming of new automation systems, as well as the enhancement of existing systems, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in the oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with management, supervisory roles, foremen, and electricians within the designated area.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in automation design and equipment relevant to the onshore oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience in PLC and HMI programming, including testing and field startup experience.
  • Work with various PLCs such as Modicon, ScadPack, Idec, and Allen Bradley.
  • Utilize SCADA and HMI systems including Wonderware, Indusoft, RSView, Cimplicity, and Ignition.
  • Design and layout panels using AutoCAD and generate Bills of Materials for automation systems and panels.

Project Management: Establish and implement project plans, ensuring that team members possess the necessary skills and expertise for larger projects. Prepare monthly status reports, manpower loading reports, and close-out notices. Compare customer orders with original quotations to identify variances and ensure necessary contractual revisions are made.

Documentation and Communication: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all engineering documentation and specifications required for successful project implementation. Maintain open lines of communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Testing and Support: Develop procedures for performance testing and demonstrations, ensuring adherence to these procedures for formal customer acceptance. Initiate post-order service support and training requirements, along with recommendations for spare parts.

Qualifications:

  • Safety-conscious and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment, random, and for-cause drug testing.
  • Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
