Regional HR Manager Job Description

CarMax is seeking a highly skilled Regional HR Manager to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our regional team and store management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies to drive business results and improve associate engagement.
  • Provide guidance and support to store managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, talent development, and employee relations.
  • Partner with regional HR directors to roll out HR initiatives and ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Conduct talent assessments and develop plans to address talent gaps and improve associate development.
  • Collaborate with talent acquisition to support critical staffing needs and ensure effective recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date on company, HR, and centralized support developments and best practices, and implement them in stores/locations.
  • Review and apply all federal, state, and local laws in conjunction with CarMax policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of current Human Resources experience, preferably with a big-box, multi-unit retailer with heavy emphasis on employee relations.
  • Strong problem-solving and influencing skills, a hands-on approach in working with line management, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
