About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Service Assistant to join our team at Neiman Marcus Group Careers. As a Service Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and have a memorable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Table Maintenance: Focus on maintaining the setup in the dining room to ensure that guests have a consistent level of food and beverage service.
  • Food and Beverage Delivery: Deliver food and beverages to guests as indicated by kitchen tickets.
  • Bus Station and Beverage Areas: Maintain the bus station and beverage areas to ensure that they are clean and well-stocked.
  • Table Numbers and Sections: Learn table numbers and sections in the dining area to provide efficient service.
  • Assisting Kitchen and Service Staff: Assist kitchen staff and service staff with any service needs, such as additional customer requests, restocking plates, and setting up the expediter station.
  • Supporting Waitstaff: Assist waitstaff with any service needs, including refilling beverages and running food from the kitchen to the dining room.
  • Dining Room Setup: Setup the dining room with key items, including coffee, iced tea, and ice.
  • Restocking and Maintenance: Maintain the dining room by restocking glasses, flatware, and linens.
  • Pre-Shift, Post-Shift, and Daily Duties: Execute pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Lifting and Moving Objects: Lift and move objects, such as tables, chairs, and highchairs.
  • Hygiene Standards: Maintain the highest level of hygiene standards.
Requirements
  • Experience in Serving Food and Beverage: Experienced in serving food and beverage and following proper table service guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Table Settings: Knowledge of proper placement of china, glass, and flatware for table settings.
  • Order of Service: Knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings, food, and beverage as indicated by the kitchen ticket and the guidebook.
  • Culinary Knowledge: Knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology.
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical Demands: Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds.
