The Technology Support Technician position provides consultation, support, and/or training to users of computer or other information technology-based systems as well as support of hardware, software, operating systems, and networking.
Key Responsibilities- Configure and maintain Windows and Apple laptops and desktops according to established standard operating procedures.
- Install, patch, and maintain application software.
- Analyze and troubleshoot hardware and application software issues.
- Respond to customer requests for technical support in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Excel in oral and written communication.
- Experience working with database technologies (e.g., SQL, Access).
- Familiarity with Windows Server OS and Active Directory.
- Experience working under strict IT security frameworks (e.g., HIPPA, PCI).
This role is part of the UNC Adams School of Dentistry Office of Computing and Information Systems, providing information technology support for the faculty, staff, and students of the UNC Adams School of Dentistry.
