Job Title: Audiology Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Audiologist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As an Audiologist Specialist, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic audiology services to patients in a busy ENT clinic, including the evaluation, fitting, and management of cochlear implant and hearing aid technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer basic and complex diagnostic evaluations to assess auditory and related conditions in patients of all ages
  • Analyze and interpret results of diagnostic testing to establish patient goals and manage subsequent treatment programs
  • Counsel and communicate with patients and families regarding hearing loss, its implications, and establishing goals and treatment programs
  • Manage the ongoing needs of both hearing aid and cochlear implant users
  • Verify hearing aid fitting using appropriate technology
  • Administer comprehensive audiologic evaluation and aided speech perception to determine candidacy for cochlear implantation and other implantable technology
  • Counsel patients regarding implant technology and function, including realistic expectations
  • Perform diagnostic testing of all available CI devices in the OR and clinical setting
  • Program and manage all available implant technology in an adult population

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Audiology (Au.D.)
  • Current NC Audiology license or eligibility for license
  • At least one year of experience working in an academic medical center in collaboration with otolaryngologists and related professionals
