Job Summary

The Center for Research on Families is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Events Manager to provide leadership and oversight for the communications, marketing, and national visibility efforts of the Center. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of the Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all logistics for Center workshops and events, including registration, venue selection, and technical setup.
  • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to increase event attendance and visibility.
  • Manage the Center's social media presence, including creating and scheduling posts, responding to comments, and analyzing engagement metrics.
  • Develop and maintain the Center's website, including creating and editing content, managing user experience, and ensuring accessibility.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement the Center's communication goals and strategies.
  • Supervise a team of student communication assistants and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Manage the Center's budget and financial resources, including preparing annual budget recommendations and participating in budget determination.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree and five years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse population of staff and students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work productively in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Competence with PC and MAC computers and MS Office applications, as well as experience with graphic design software and website development tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising staff and managing a small office.
  • Science writing background and ability to synthesize scholarly writings and publications.
  • Advanced technical skills, including Drupal and html, and experience in the design and maintenance of websites.
  • Understanding of current technology and software relevant to marketing and communications, such as Salesforce and Marketing Cloud.
