Job Summary

The Events, Communications, and Office Manager will play a key role in promoting the Center for Research on Families (CRF) at UMass Amherst. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy, managing events, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication and Marketing: Develop and implement a communications strategy to promote the CRF and its events, including social media, email marketing, and website management.
  • Event Planning: Plan, coordinate, and execute events, including workshops, conferences, seminars, and lectures, ensuring seamless logistics and technical support.
  • Office Management: Supervise student communication assistants, manage office operations, and provide administrative support to the management team.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree and five years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and two years of experience.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in PC and MAC computers, MS Office applications, and experience with graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience: Supervising staff and managing a small office, with a strong background in science writing and ability to synthesize scholarly writings and publications.
Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with some evening work required.

Level 26, PSU Hiring Ranges.
