About the Role

MHEC is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to support its 2700+ customer base by developing and managing a portfolio of publicly bid product and service contracts.

This role involves responsibility for the complete contract life cycle, from selecting and evaluating supplier partnerships to bid and award. The successful candidate will have a strong background in sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hunt for new opportunities to maximize value and minimize risks for MHEC's customers and suppliers.
  • Own and manage a portfolio of contracts, ensuring compliance with the highest standards and driving revenue growth.
  • Develop and present opportunities to stakeholders, quantifying risks and benefits.
  • Embrace member and supplier events as opportunities to promote MHEC as the consortium of choice.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of direct sourcing, negotiating, selling, and conveying the value proposition.
  • Successful closing record on new/expanded offerings, preferably in public procurement.
  • Exceptional internet surfer and database navigator.
  • Strong math skills to quantify savings, calculate bids, and define opportunities for savings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
  • Bachelor's degree desired, with supply chain, marketing, or management preferred.
Work Environment

This is a hybrid work environment, with Monday to Wednesday spent on-site and Thursday and Friday working remotely. The role requires extensive computer and telephone work, with regional travel to meet with customers and suppliers and attend events and trade shows.
