Position Overview

This role focuses on enhancing the academic success of student-athletes who may be facing challenges in their educational journey. The incumbent will provide tailored educational support to foster self-regulated learning among at-risk students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer personalized academic assistance to student-athletes, ensuring they develop effective learning strategies.
  • Facilitate academic skills workshops aimed at small groups, while monitoring the progress of individual students.
  • Maintain consistent communication with academic advising staff through weekly updates, collaborating with relevant personnel to identify and support at-risk student-athletes.

General Duties

  • Generate and disseminate reports on enrollment trends, retention rates, and degree progression to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in committees and collaborate with student services to understand the complete student experience and identify retention barriers.
  • Design and implement initiatives aimed at improving student enrollment and retention metrics.
  • Engage directly with at-risk students, connecting them with necessary resources to overcome obstacles to their academic success.
  • Analyze enrollment data to assess the effectiveness of current processes and work with various departments to achieve enrollment objectives.
  • Conduct industry research to recommend enhancements aligned with best practices.

Qualifications

Consideration will be given to combinations of relevant education and experience. Additional education may substitute for work experience and vice versa.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, or a related discipline is required.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years in enrollment management, admissions, student services, or a related field is required.
  • Preferred experience includes 2 years in student services, college athletics, or academic support.
  • Educational background in counseling or higher education administration is advantageous.
  • Experience assisting students with cognitive or non-cognitive barriers to graduation is preferred.
