Job Overview

Department-Specific Duties

  • Offers personalized educational support for student-athletes facing academic challenges, promoting their growth as independent learners.
  • Facilitates academic skills workshops for small groups of student-athletes and monitors the academic performance of at-risk individuals.
  • Regularly communicates academic progress through weekly reports to the advising team, collaborating with the Initial Eligibility Officer to identify at-risk student-athletes and devise effective support strategies for first-year students.

General Responsibilities

  • Creates and disseminates reports on enrollment statistics, retention rates, degree progression, and graduation metrics for stakeholders in enrollment management and student services.
  • Participates in committees and collaborates with student services personnel to understand the entire student lifecycle and common obstacles to retention and graduation.
  • Designs and executes retention initiatives and targeted outreach efforts to enhance student enrollment and retention outcomes.
  • Engages directly with at-risk students, connecting them with necessary resources to overcome barriers to academic success.
  • Analyzes enrollment data to assess the effectiveness of current processes and serves as a resource for academic departments and programs to achieve enrollment objectives.
  • Conducts industry research and may propose process enhancements aligned with best practices.

Qualifications

Education and experience combinations may be evaluated. Additional education may substitute for work experience and vice versa.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, or a related discipline is required.

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years in enrollment management, admissions, student services, higher education, or a related area is required.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in student services, collegiate athletics, or academic support.
  • Educational background in counseling, higher education administration, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Experience assisting students facing cognitive or non-cognitive challenges to graduation is preferred.

Working Conditions
