Role Overview
This position as an Academic Advisor is focused on delivering academic guidance to a diverse group of undergraduate students exploring or pursuing majors, minors, or certificates within the College of Arts and Sciences.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer academic counseling to students regarding their major, minor, or certificate options, while assisting them in planning their educational pathways in alignment with departmental requirements.
- Conduct individual and group meetings to help students navigate their academic programs effectively.
- Support students in making informed decisions about their academic and career trajectories, helping them evaluate their interests and skills in relation to their chosen fields.
- Educate students on university processes and policies, fostering accountability in their academic choices and encouraging active participation in campus life.
- Direct students to relevant campus resources, including academic support services, internships, and study abroad opportunities.
- Monitor and document students' academic progress, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with academic standards.
- Represent the advising team at campus events and contribute to the development of advising materials.
- Research and propose best practices for academic advising initiatives and provide mentorship to fellow advisors.
Qualifications
Education
Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years in student affairs, teaching, academic advising, or a related area is required. Experience in a student-centered higher education environment is highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
