**Position Overview**
The Project Control Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing project execution from inception to completion. Utilizing a diverse array of methodologies and tools, this position is responsible for monitoring project timelines, milestones, budgets, and expenditures.

**Key Responsibilities**
The Project Control Specialist will collaborate closely with project managers and various stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. This includes:

  • Tracking and analyzing project progress and financial performance.
  • Identifying potential issues and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation and preparing detailed reports.
  • Providing essential support to the project management team.

**Essential Skills**
The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail. A strong grasp of project management principles is essential. Responsibilities include:

  • Financial tracking in alignment with government contracts.
  • Analytical proficiency and expertise in Estimate at Completion (EAC) development.
  • Ability to reconcile and interpret financial data.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

**Team Collaboration**
The Project Control Specialist must be a collaborative team player, capable of multitasking and thriving under pressure. Meeting monthly Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) deadlines is a critical expectation.

**Additional Expectations**
Adherence to standard working hours, compliance with company policies, and effective communication with supervisors are fundamental to this role. Responsibilities may also include:

  • Focusing on assigned tasks and completing additional duties as required.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
The Project Control Specialist will utilize various tools to monitor project progress, including:

  • Tracking timelines and milestones.
  • Monitoring budgets and expenses.
  • Providing project control expertise across multiple projects.

**Financial Management**
Key tasks include:

  • Capturing incurred costs and commitments, comparing them against established plans.
  • Translating functional requirements into financial estimates.
  • Collaborating with Finance, Program Management, and Contracts & Pricing teams.

**Reporting & Analysis**
Responsibilities also encompass:

  • Preparing Monthly Program Review presentations.
  • Producing financial deliverables for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintaining a central repository of project documentation.

**Support & Training**
The Project Control Specialist will assist in the development and implementation of project management processes and tools, providing training to team members on project control systems.

**Qualifications**
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a Project Control Analyst or Project Financial Analyst role.
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Acquisition policies.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying financial information to management.
  • Knowledge of various contract types and billing processes.

**Preferred Qualifications**
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • A degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Experience with corporate accounting systems.
