Position Summary:

Heery is in search of a skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach, possess exceptional communication abilities, and effectively manage tasks with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients and consultants throughout all phases of the project.
  • Manage financial aspects, ensuring timely invoicing and monitoring project budgets.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans.
  • Implement performance management techniques to track progress.
  • Oversee the change control process.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and clients through regular updates and meetings.
  • Prepare detailed reports on project budgets and progress.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Assist in drafting proposals for new projects or modifications to existing ones.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to project management procedures.
  • Address quality, safety, health, and environmental concerns with appropriate management.
  • Establish effective governance and processes for project execution.
  • Fulfill general management responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of seven years of experience managing public sector construction projects.
  • Willingness to travel daily to project sites.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in budget and schedule management.
  • Ability to provide strategic advice during project initiation.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure timely project completion.
  • Capability to foster strong relationships with clients and team members.
  • Experience in collaborative team environments.
  • Ability to identify business development opportunities.
  • Effective sharing and retention of key project information.

Education and Experience:

  • Proven track record as a Project Manager in the public sector construction field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client-facing roles.
  • A degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture is preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations is advantageous.
  • Experience managing diverse stakeholders and project managers.
  • Familiarity with the construction landscape in California is preferred.
