Role Summary:


We are in search of a committed and customer-focused Retail Team Leader to become part of our organization. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing the daily operations of our dispensary, guiding a team that upholds Joyleaf's standards of service and education. Additionally, you will enforce and uphold Joyleaf's policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to all applicable state and local regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for either opening or closing the dispensary, acting as a key holder.
  • Welcome and engage with customers on the sales floor, delivering exceptional service and fostering strong, lasting relationships through the Joyleaf approach.
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of our retail inventory, enabling you to recommend suitable products to customers.
  • Assist in training Associates to ensure a robust knowledge of our product offerings.
  • Oversee daily merchandising displays on the sales floor, ensuring accurate inventory placement and presentation.
  • Conduct cash management tasks, including daily opening and/or closing procedures, and assist customers during checkout.
  • Coordinate inventory receipts and manage inventory intake during weekdays.
  • Implement product labeling procedures to ensure compliance with internal operating protocols and state regulations.
  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of inventory through regular counts and reconciliations between Joyleaf POS and state systems.
  • Manage order fulfillment to guarantee timely in-store customer service.
  • Support Inventory Associates in their daily tasks and provide constructive feedback as necessary.
  • Regularly review online menus to ensure product display and information accuracy, making edits as required.
  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly front-of-house tasks assigned by the Manager on Duty during your shift.
  • Complete and maintain compliance training regarding sales floor operations, cash registers, and POS systems.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Actively participate in daily team meetings, contributing to collaboration and communication.
  • Project a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry partners, and the community.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in sales or customer service is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within the cannabis retail sector.
  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations and experience in implementing compliance measures.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities with a talent for coaching and developing staff.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with POS systems or similar point-of-sale technology.
  • Knowledge of cannabis products, industry trends, and regulations.
  • Willingness to work during irregular hours, including nights and weekends, and to adapt to varying shifts.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the employee to frequently remain stationary (sit or stand) for extended periods. Employees will often operate a computer and/or other machinery. The position may require lifting and carrying boxes weighing more than 10 pounds frequently and occasionally lifting boxes over 30 pounds. The individual in this role will regularly communicate with staff, leadership, and customers and must be able to convey accurate information in various customer service and retail situations.


Work Environment:

This position involves working during irregular hours, including nights and weekends, and may require overtime and alternating shifts.
