Job Summary

The Front Desk Assistant Manager is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the Front Office. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Front Desk Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Front Office
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their needs and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage the front desk operations, including checking guests in and out, handling room assignments, and resolving any issues related to room inventory
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and documentation, including the Front Office log book and Guest Request log
  • Monitor and maintain the Front Office computer system, including software maintenance and report generation
  • Ensure compliance with Avion Hospitality standards and policies, including those related to customer service, safety, and security
  • Assist with the training and development of Front Desk staff, including providing coaching and feedback to ensure they are meeting the required standards
  • Perform other duties as required by the Front Desk Manager or other members of the hotel management team
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Must be proficient in Windows operating systems
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc., from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
Working Conditions/Environment

The Front Desk Assistant Manager will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interactions with guests and other hotel staff. The role will require the ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a high level of attention to detail and strong communication skills.

The Front Desk Assistant Manager will be required to stand for long periods of time, with frequent walking and bending. The role will also require the ability to lift up to 10-20 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier objects.

The Front Desk Assistant Manager will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role will require the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and to make decisions in a timely and effective manner.
