Key Responsibilities:
The Trauma Care Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering rapid and proficient care to patients presenting with emergency medical needs. This role includes:
  • Assessing incoming patients to evaluate the urgency of their conditions and prioritizing care based on established protocols.
  • Administering direct patient care across a spectrum of medical issues, including medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and pain management.
  • Assisting in stabilizing critically ill or injured patients and initiating life-saving measures as necessary.
  • Effectively managing high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and focus during busy shifts.
  • Collaborating with physicians to communicate changes in patient conditions and diagnostic results.
  • Staying informed about Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA) regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Educating patients and their families regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge plans.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
  • A valid state RN License.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting, preferably in an emergency department.
  • Certification as an Emergency Nurse (CEN) is preferred.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
