This role is essential in delivering comprehensive medication management and distribution services.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Nurse Specialist will:
- Prepare, organize, and administer daily medications to patients.
- Monitor and document any adverse reactions or side effects experienced by patients, ensuring to consult with the supervising medical authority when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration on the patient's medication administration record (MAR).
- Be equipped to perform lifesaving procedures in emergencies, including CPR, utilizing an AED, and assessing vital signs.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, local hospitals, pharmacies, and emergency services.
- Oversee and guide the work of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Nursing Assistants.
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and at least one year of relevant experience within the past two years.
- A current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized provider.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Candidates should be able to:
- Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Perform twisting, bending, and squatting movements as needed.
While there are no current security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must successfully pass a background check. US Citizenship is required for this position.
