Position Overview:

In this position, you will collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to expand your expertise and technical knowledge in the design and construction of water and wastewater treatment systems. You will be an essential part of our team, contributing to our established reputation for excellence in client management and development, while executing projects and managing project pursuits within the municipal water and wastewater sector.

Key Responsibilities:

This role involves supporting projects and clients throughout the planning, preliminary and final design, and construction phases of water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution and collection systems, and pump/lift stations. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Leading the preparation of comprehensive engineering calculations and analyses
  • Completing design tasks within established budgets and timelines
  • Drafting scopes of work, cost estimates, and other essential project documentation
  • Mentoring junior engineers and technical staff while supporting their work
  • Engaging directly with clients to assess needs and propose solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with all Arcadis practices, quality, and safety standards
  • Traveling up to 25% for client meetings and project site evaluations
Qualifications & Experience:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in the water/wastewater sector
Key Skills and Attributes:
  • Adaptability to work with diverse project teams locally and across remote locations
  • Experience in developing project drawings, technical specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
  • Project experience in the design and construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, focusing on expansion, rehabilitation, and retrofitting
  • Leadership experience, including managing project delivery expectations and mentoring junior staff
  • Client-facing experience with skills in proposal preparation, client expectation management, and relationship building
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PE License in New York or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of hiring
  • 7-10+ years of progressively responsible experience
  • Active involvement in regional and/or national professional associations
